By “Local” I mean, Edinburgh. And by “Heroes”, I mean you guys. Yep, you. You rock.
Thanks entirely to the 74 Local Heroes who appeared for Tuesday’s “Local Hero” showing at the Dominion Cinema, we’ve raised an absolutely stunning £1020 for the upcoming Pentland Push event on Saturday. That event, of course, is to raise money for St Columbas Hospice.
If you missed out on Tuesday’s event (and you did “miss out” – it was a cracking night!), it’s not too late to sponsor us directly here : http://my.artezglobal.com/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=50951 and add to the total!
As for the walk itself, the weather forecast for Saturday is looking reasonably decent, so hopefully it’s going to an enjoyable first ever Pentland Push and will hopefully snowball into an annual event for St Columbas Hospice as a regular fund raiser. Fingers crossed anyway.
Wildfox are overseeing the event and have done a superb 1 hour talk on getting ready. As we’re only doing the bronze event (this time, anyway), a lot of what’s talked about won’t be relevant this time around – thank goodness, since I’ve had a few bad flashbacks to when I walked the Caledonian Challenge and I’m not really ready to relive that particular nightmare!
I’ll be having curry with friends on Saturday night, but hopefully having earned it by trekking round the Pentlands first, justifying all the dosh you’ve thrown at us in the lead up. A huge thanks to you all!
Wish me luck!
