CIS 07

I… don’t… believe it.

We went to Hampden and didnĀ“t come away dejected and spent. It’s almost a first for the Hibees, and in sixteen years (so they say) it is. We took the 4-In-Hand bus through at 10am on Sunday 18th March, stopped off at the Lawburn Inn in Cambuslang, then made the final 10 minute journey to the national stadium where, through the snow and sleet, we saw big Rob Jones put Hibs in the lead, then saw Fletcher and Benji finish the job.

Electric atmosphere, awesome result and, finally, the CIS Cup to look forward to at Easter Road. Now, like the Murphys, I’m not bitter… but this huge smile on my face should have been there three years ago when we played Livingston, so it’s all the more satisfying to finally see the trophy being won by the Hibees.
Happy, happy days!

Anyway, here’s Sunshine on Leith… Cup Final style!
