In September, Sarah and I are walking the bronze course of the Great Pentland Push<\/a>, to raise funds for St Columbas Hospice.<\/p>\n

While you’re very welcome to sponsor us directly on this page<\/a>, we have a better idea… a screening of 1980’s classic Local Hero<\/a> at the awesome Dominion Cinema<\/a> in Morningside.<\/p>\n

Comfy, much?<\/h2>\n

The Dominion blows me away every time I visit. The first time I was there, the big leather chairs had their own recliner function and personal tables. We visited last weekend and they’ve now replaced those with even deeper, more luxurious double-seater sofas, resplendent with foot stools and, yep, personal tables. Fabulous. But don’t take my word for it. Here’s a piccie of the executive doubler, which is more like two singles :<\/p>\n

There are big double-sofas too, if you fancy a wee cuddle with your neighbour. And for the full effect, here’s another picture (this is actually a smaller screen than the one we’ve booked, but you get the idea):<\/p>\n

We’ve arranged a wee glass of fizziness on arrival, or orange juice if you’re the designated driver (boo!). There’s also a fully licensed bar if one glass just doesn’t cut it. Oh! And we’re throwing in a goody bag too, just for you. Because we love you and you’re awesome. Totally not because you’re giving us lots of money for fund raising.<\/p>\n

We’re also holding a raffle just before screening starts. Some of the prizes are pretty stunning already and we’re still adding to the collection in the days leading up to the main event. There will be a couple of other games running on the night too, to build up to the screening itself.<\/p>\n

When?<\/h2>\n

The screening is Tuesday the 18th September. Doors are open at 7:15pm for an 8pm start<\/strong>, but given the raffle and party games planned, we’d ask you to be there for as close to 7:15pm as you can manage.<\/p>\n

How Much?<\/h2>\n

And what does all this cost? A meagre \u00a315<\/strong> a ticket. That’ll get you your seat on the night, a glass of aforementioned “juice” and the goody bag. We’d ask you to take a couple of shiny coins for partaking in the party fun just before screening.<\/p>\n
